5 / 5STASH OF THE TITANS REVIEW
Stash of the Titans is Microgaming's charming take on the Herculean-era of Ancient Greece. This 3-line, 5-reel slot has 10 paylines and a maximum wager of 200, meaning it should appeal to both conservative and aggressive players alike. It is available for Canadians to play over their mobile devices through participating online casinos.
Stash of the Titans features some of the cutest art images of any Microgaming title, very much on a par with the art style of Disney's Hercules animated movie. There are images of the snake-haired Medusa, Hercules on a winged pegasus, the three-headed guard dog Cerberus, a centaur, a Greek palace, a griffon, a multi-headed dragon, a treasure chest, and a rather menacing minotaur, among others. You won't find any staid card value symbols; every image artfully depicts something relevant to the theme. Even better, the images are fully animated upon being part of a winning combination, providing yet more visual panache to the title. The music is suitably epic and uplifting, equally perfect for diving into battle or diving into slots action.
Medusa acts as the scatter, and just two of her on any payline grants a winning combination paying out double your wager, while 3 or more pays out more and also grants you 15 free spins in the bonus spins mode, where all victories are quadrupled in value. One disappointment in this mode is that free spins do not stack, so while further medusa will still provide some nice wins with that 4X multiplier, they won't keep the bonus fun coming. The Stash of the Titans logo is the wild, substituting for any other symbol except Medusa, as needed, and also multiplying the value of the winning combination it helps create. The more wilds in the combination, the greater likelihood of not only a higher value combo, but also a greater multiplication of that reward. 5 wilds results in a 50,000 coin reward. There is also an impressive 200,000 coin, non-progressive jackpot.
Lastly, Titans contains an autoplay feature called expert mode that can be activated at any time. Through that, players can automate the number of spins and sit back and watch the action without having to interact further (save perhaps for some fist pumps or cries of joy upon your winning combinations). Players can quickly set it to 5 or 10 automatic spins, or delve deeper into the options and set their own number of automatic spins.
Final Verdict
One of the more endearing video slots titles available, Stash of the Titans is a high-volatility, high-reward title with a pleasing presentation that makes it easy to play spin after spin in the hopes of landing some loot of epic proportions.
