BURNING DESIRE REVIEW
Game Burning Desire
Burning Desire is a 3-line, 5-reel slot, and quite a novel approach to video slots that may take an adjusment period for players new to this style of slot game. The Microgaming slot has zero convemtional paylines to speak of. Instead, payouts are awarded in one of 243 ways (these are called payways), all of which are potentially available on each spin. This makes the game relatively easy to follow once you know how the payouts work, with no need to know a series of complicated paylines or adjust your bets or numbr of paylines at all. Just the amount of coins you'll wager and spin away; it's as simple as that.
So how are payouts determined? Basically, any winning combination need only appear on consecutive reels from left to right, regardless of their line position on the reel. Like with standard slots, there is a wild symbol, in this case represented by the burning desire logo, which only appears on reels 2 and 4 and cannot create its own winning combinations. There is also a scatter symbol, represented by a coin. Two of them appearing anywhere on the reels automatically create a winning combination, and three of them appearing anywhere on the reels activates the free spins bonus game. The rest of the symbols include your standard card values, as well as a burning rose, a bar symbol, and a burning 7. Visually it's not overly creative or attractive, and rather archaic in its style.
As with most video slots, the free bonus spins game is where your money will likely be made. By getting three of those coin symbols on your reels, you're granted 15 free spins, during which any of the 243 payways (all of which remain active) are tripled in value. 3 more coin symbols during this mode will keep adding more free spins on to your total.
Burning Desire also contains gamble and autoplay features. On any winning hand you can choose to gamble for a chance to double your winnings, up to five times (or until the gamble limit of 8,000 coins is reached), by guessing the colour of a random card. The autoplay feature is chosen by activating the expert mode, through which you can choose either to automatically spin 5 or 10 times, or to manually set the number of automatic spins. You can also adjust other options for the automatic spins, including the time taken between spins.
Not overly inspiring visually, Burning Desire does provide a unique system of payways that makes it attractive in its veiled simplicity. It's easy to monitor, and perfect for the slots player who likes less elaborate productions without sacrificing the chance to win big.
